Courses are taught at Tonbridge Old Fire Station, a vibrant venue near Tonbridge Castle, which used to be (obviously) the fire station. There's a great cafe downstairs, and we have use of a very versatile space upstairs which works as a classroom, studio, and forum for discussion and critiques. Students are able to take advantage of discounted food and drink in the cafe, which is also licensed!

Tonbridge is less than 35 minutes from London by train, and 12 minutes from M25 Junction 5, down the A21 dual carriageway. There are frequent trains to Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks, as well as Paddock Wood and Redhill. Several bus routes serve the High st, which only 2 minutes walk from the Fire Station.

Not at all. Courses suitable for beginners simply require you to have a camera. If you're able to control the exposure that will be helpful, and if you can change the lenses, or have a built in zoom, that will also help with some technical aspects of the course.

For more advanced courses, and specific technical requirements will be made clear when you book, but rest assured, you won't need to own a top-end model! You needn't worry about which make of camera either - I've used most of them in my long career, and although I've obviously got my preferences, they're all good!

Depends on the course! At launch, both the courses I offer are suitable for beginners, or those with a bit of experience looking to deepen their knowledge. As I bring other courses online, there will be some that will require a more in-depth understanding and range of experience, but this will be made clear when you book.

Don't panic! All the notes from each week are delivered the next day as a PDF, so you won't miss out on any information. I will also offer to walk you through them (at a slightly accelerated rate ;)) via zoom/whatsapp/other online meeting, to bring you fully up to speed.
